Why Capacity Building Course?

Capacity Building Course is the process of helping the participants to be patriotic, morally & psychologically competent for being entrepreneurs/professionals. The course helps participants to get into a career that is suited to their aptitude, personality, interest and skills. So, it is the process of making an effective correlation between the internal psychologies of participants with the external factors of employment.Capacity Building Course focuses generally on issues such as moral, personal, academic and career development.

Capacity Building Course is the process of helping the participants to be patriotic, morally & psychologically competent for being entrepreneurs/professionals. The course helps participants to get into a career that is suited to their aptitude, personality, interest and skills. So, it is the process of making an effective correlation between the internal psychologies of participants with the external factors of employment.

The students are required to take part in the development of their communities, through their respective academic discipline, in addition to their normal studies. And thus, the community development services rendered by the students and graduates will contribute to the overall development of the Nation.

Goal

Develop some youth leaders who can contribute to build a better Bangladesh

Objective

  • develop patriotism among the participants
  • motivate to create entrepreneurship
  • decrease inferiority complex from the participants
  • help/counsel to choose appropriate career
  • develop the leadership skill

Duration of the course

The duration of the Capacity Building Course is 24 months that consists of each module will be not more than 1.30 hrs long session along with some relevant document. So, (24 sessions×1.30 min video recording) =36 hours

Course Instructions

The courses have been set up with the following study pattern in mind:

  1. Each Module consists of a PDF file with corresponding Video and Audio files.
  2. The student should first read and watch or listen to the study material of Module 1.1.
  3. When the student has thoroughly mastered Module 1.1, he or she should then proceed to the Module 1.1 Test.
    Note: The tests follow the multiple-choice format. The number of attempts allowed is unlimited. But the grading will be calculated according to the highest score on all attempts. So, for example, if you made three attempts and got 40%, 60%, 80% respectively, your final grade would be 80%.
  4. 80% overall course average is required to be eligible to receive the certificate.
  5. After passing the Module 1.1 Test, the student should then proceed to Module 1.2 and follow the same procedure till the end of the course.
  6. Students should not attempt the Modules out of order. All student activity on the modules is recorded with date, time and number of hours spent on the various activities. Accessing modules out of order will confuse the grading of the student’s performance. 
  7. Students may contact the teacher/s via messages through the course messaging system, the information about the course Facilitator is given on the right top corner of the course page.
  8. On completion of the course with an average total of 80%, the student can get a certificate.
  9. Maintain discipline abide by rules of CZM and code of conduct

To execute the course there has a Course Execution Committee formed by Course Advisor, Course Director and Facilitators. Course Director is in charge of the overall responsibility of the course. He conducts the course and coordinates with Facilitators and consults with them to execute the course properly.

Methodology

The course includes different methods and techniques for building capacity of its participants such as— lecture, discussion, demonstration, documentary show, assignment, workshop, group discussion, term paper/report writing etc.

Medium of instruction

The medium of instruction is English and Bengali. However, Use of English is appreciable. CZM encourages the participants to develop their oral and written skills in English

Contents

The course contents are being continuously reviewed and updated by CZM research team consulting with the Facilitators and experts. In order to meet the Goal & Objectives of the course and participants’ needs the contents of the course have been segmented into the following major areas:

  1. Personal Development
  2. Academic Development
  3. Moral & Spiritual Development
  4. Career Development

Each area is consisting of a number of topics. The topics have been selected keeping in mind that students need to develop their morality; they require to develop skills to excel in their academics, personal and forthcoming professional life.
